MCL Medicare is a Manitoba-based primary care telehealth clinic. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information collected through mclmedicare.com and the forms on this site. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@mclmedicare.com.
What information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form or notify list, we collect your name (if provided), email address, and the contents of your message. If you sign up as a patient in the future, we will collect additional intake information necessary to provide care.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers record basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies. At this stage, we use only essential session cookies required for the site to function. We are not using marketing or third-party advertising cookies.
How we use your information
- To respond to inquiries you send us.
- To notify you when MCL Medicare opens to new patients, if you have asked us to.
- To operate, secure, and improve our website.
- To meet our obligations under Manitoba law, including the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) once clinical services begin.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers we rely on to run the site and respond to you (for example, email delivery and hosting). These providers are bound by written agreements that limit how they can use the information.
- Authorities or other parties when required by Manitoba or Canadian law, court order, or to protect the safety of a person.
Personal health information (PHIA notice)
When MCL Medicare begins providing clinical care, all personal health information will be handled under Manitoba’s Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). A separate clinical privacy notice will apply to information collected during care, and you will receive a copy at the time of your first visit.
How long we keep your information
We keep messages sent through the contact form and notify-list signups for up to 24 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Clinical records, once we are providing care, are retained for the periods required by Manitoba health regulations.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by writing to hello@mclmedicare.com. We will respond as quickly as we reasonably can, and within the timeframes required by Manitoba law.
How we protect your information
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and audit logging on the systems that store your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to follow current industry practice for healthcare-adjacent services.
Children
Our website and services are intended for adults in Manitoba. They are not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 through this site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and refresh the “Last updated” date above.
